blueberry almond smoothieAre you in need of a quick breakfast in the mornings? Maybe one you can take with you to the office or on the way to drop the kids off at school? This smoothie contains protein, healthy fats, and fiber to keep your satisife. Plus it’s also low in sugar to help stabilize your blood sugar first thing in the morning. Feel free to swap out any of the ingredients with what you have on hand.

Ingredients:

  • 1 c coconut water (no sugar added) or liquid or choice
  • 1 tsp – 1 T chia seeds (start with less and gradually add more over time until you’re used to the increased fiber)
  • 1 T almond butter
  • 1 handful organic spinach
  • 1/4 organic blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 scoop Alaya Naturals collagen powder*
  • 1/2 scoop Alaya Naturals vanilla protein powder*

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender, pour into a fun glass, and enjoy!

Recipe Swaps:

Liquid options: almond milk, coconut milk, hemp milk, or full fat pasture-raised dairy milk.

Nut butter: feel free to swap this out for any nut or nut-free butter of your choice or even avocado

Greens: Kale is another great choice too but you want to make sure you have a high speed blender. Also note that the taste will be stronger than spinach.

Fruit: any berries will work – fresh or frozen.

*Protein powder options: in place of collagen, do a full scoop of the vanilla protein powder or 20-30g of your favorite protein powder.
